Greg Dickie

Greg Dickie is a marine and landscape painter, working in oils. His love of the sea has been lifelong and comes from growing up in coastal towns and cities and spending time on the water. He currently owns and sails his own boat from the Barrachois Harbour Yacht Club.
Inspired by painters such as Jack Gray, John Cook and Bill deGarth, he strives for that particular mood found in a vanishing way of life centered around quiet fishing villages and the open sea.
Greg is mainly self taught but has worked with numerous recognized artists such as Anthony Law, Don Scott and Garth Vaughan.
His landscapes are based on many years hiking and canoeing in Nova Scotia's backcountry and an almost lifelong love of works by Lismner, Thomson, Jackson and other members of The Group of Seven.
