Sarah Saunders

Sarah Saunders is a graduate of Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Halifax and holds a BSc from Acadia University. As well,
she has studied fine art at the American Centre in Paris, France and the Canadian College of Dance, Ryerson, Toronto.
She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally and her work is in many private and public collections.
"Over the past few years my ceramic work has focused on personal and domestic artifacts, I am intrigued by traces and marks, remnants of lives and indicators of time passage (buried foundations, china shards, bones). I use forms and surfaces that feel familiar yet excite a sense of curiosity and mystery. Time plays a role in my work sculpturally as well as figuratively, pieces often employ forms whereby they are revealed segmentally ie. book forms to be opened and closed, vessels raised above and below eye line of the viewer thus revealing themselves differently to different viewers"....Sarah Saunders
