Henry Purdy,C.M.R.C.A., F.R.S.A., A.N.S.C.A.
Henry Purdy is a professional artist working on Prince Edward Island for over 47 years. He was elected into the Royal Academy of the Arts in 1978.
His works are in collections, private and corporate, in many countries as well as every province in Canada. He has had over 100 exhibitions from 1958 to 2005.
He was one of the founding staff members of Holland College in 1969, creating the Commercial Design Program, and was Director of the Centre of Creative Arts at the College from 1977 to 1992. His awards and distinctions are many.
Currently he conducts workshops and courses throughout the Maritimes. He is a Sessional Lecturer with Univerity of Prince Edward Island.
He and his wife Gertie live in Charlottetown
